The Paddock restuarant allows turf fans to enjoy their lunch whilst looking at the horses A Rio Turf fan trying to pick the next winner in the 1920's Betting Hall at Gavea, Rio Claudia Rezende Cury, top trainer at Rio and also a vet L-R, Bertrand Joachim Kauffmann, Controller of the Brazilian Jockey Club and Jose-Carlos Fragoso Pires Junior, the breeder of the great mare, Riboletta. Jose-Carlos's father is the President of the Brazilian Jockey Club whilst Junior serves on the Club House Committee. A young Jockeys' Fan at Gavea racecourse, Rio de Janeiro Commisario K, by Dodge out of Resistance, a maiden 2 y.o. winner of the Premio Nitidezza over 5 furlongs in 57.8s The Gavea homestraight......long flat and very fair to all runners. Jockeys tend to go for home very early on in the Rio home straight.
